Product Description

This is a very important publication by Thomas Bromley (1629-1691), member of the Philadelphian Society and contemporary of the Visionary Jane Leade. The Philadelphian Society was a Protestant 17th Century Religious Group organised around John Pordage, an ejected Minister who was attracted to the ideas of Jakob Bohme, a Lutheran theosophist and Christian Mystic. This volume commences with a reissue of Bromley’s “Way to the Sabbath” first published in 1655 (pages 1-46); followed by the first publication of two of Bromley’s most important writings, each with it’s own sub title. The first American printing at Germantown was in 1759.
