A remarkable and useful collection containing in one volume much material useful for research on the subject of Crime in the early 19th Century. The collection of several hundred cuttings, mostly but not all taken from the Morning Herald, covers every aspect of current crime. It includes reports of Parliamentary Proceedings on Bills being debated including Sheridan’s Forgery Bill; the Capital Punishment Bill, the Reform Bill &c. numerous individual crime reports and coverage of specific events including “Rioters in South Wales” (Chartists), and the “Nottingham Rioters”. Other Newspapers from which cuttings have been collected include The Morning Post, The Times, The Courier and the Elgin Courier.
