Prompted by the murder of Cromwell’s envoy to the Hague, Isaac Dorislaus, Cromwell’s Parliament issued this Act for the apprehension and Trial of various enemies of the State. Of those listed on this Act none appear to have succumbed to execution. Sir William Davenant was lucky that his reprieve was by the assistance of John Milton. A Public Act iossued on the 9th July 1650
