Product Description

The Treaty of Ryswyck signed on the 20th September 1697 settled the War of the League of Augsburgh known as the “Nine Years War” a great part of which was fought over possessions in North American and the Caribbean where it was known as the “King William’s War”. Large changes occurred in mainland America with French Colonies being involved as well as dispute over England’s claim to Hudson Bay. In the Caribbean French control of Tortuga and the western third of the island of Hispaniola was recognised. ESTC on line quotes this as Wing W2308AB with copies only located at British Library, National Library of Scotland, Queens College Oxford and a single location in North America at New York Public Library. A Boston printing is quoted as Wing W2308B with one known copy at Massachusetts Historical Society.
