A very rare and important publication by the French Architect and Archaeologist Julien David Le Roy, (1724-1803) being the subject of lecture that he gave to the Academy of Belles-Lettres at Easter in 1786. on New Research into the Long Ships of the Ancients with a view to reduce the dangers inherent to Mariners. In the text he touches on Chines Junks and Captain James Cook. Le Roy had a major impact on Architectural Theory and Padagogy in the 18th Century.
