Product Description

The first letter written from Plymouth dock is the original estimate for the cost of the work with a full list of costs including a table presented by John Brome, Master Attendant and Bn. Slade, Master Shipwright. The second letter was written from the Commander of the Navy to a Mr Corbett requesting him to lay the estimate before the Lords Commissioners of the Navy, and the third letter is from the Lords Commissioners authorising the work to be undertaken and that the Estimate of cost should not be exceeded. These would appear to be the official retained copies.
