Product Description

Taken from the Northampton Mercury March 14th 1785. The boy was supposedly found in a wood near Hanover by George I whilst hunting. The boy was completely wild surviving and was brought to England and handed over to a farmer in Hertfordshire to be looked after, for which the King paid a pension. The boy would not be domesticated and died in 1785. A similar story of another Peter the Wildboy was circulated in the 18th century. This one was kept near Norwich, had the appearance of an Orangutang and also died in 1785!
