Product Description

A Satire in which Elizabeth I is shown in 18th Century costume escorted by maids and soldiers also in 18th Century dress. The meaning behind this Satire has, I believe, been missed by George because the dating of 1781, when the war in America, was at its height would indicate that this is a comparison with Elizabeth’s reign, when England was under threat from Spain, and the current crisis when England was under pressure in the War in America.
