Product Description

A Satire on the debilitating effects of years of War (American War) on the populace. The illustration shows a plump ,cheerful and well dressed lady representing 1760, looking across a table at a thin, slovenly dressed and gin soaked lady representing 1780. A note on the internet relating to this print relates it to the question of women’s Bedgowns and Manteaus-de-Lit. Exceedingly rare. Not in British Museum Catalogue, but now listed by them as recently purchased. No other copy traced.
