Product Description

Seemingly unrecorded. A Satire on the supposed Naval Review on the Serpentine Lake in Hyde Park. The illustration shows a rotund gentleman, described as the “Admiralty Secretary” quizzing the scene of a group of sailors pumping a huge pair nof bellows blowing the ship “Tremendous”. The text describes the event, saying that “several tons of rock salt have been thrown into the Serpentine, in the course of last week, and it is now a real salt sea”. Described as a satire on the “Peace of 1814” Exceedingly rare. No location traced.
