Product Description

On the verso is written in a near contemporary hand a song which starts “Come come my dear Peggy”. This song appeared in print c1720 and is described as ” A Dialogue between a Lankeshire Carrier and a Country Maid comeing to London”. It is worth considering the possibility that this manuscript version may be a circulated version which preceded the printed version. The printed song is not listed in the British Union Catalogue of Early Music.
